If it is true that ‘the heavens declare the glory of God;’ that night after night they speak of him in nonverbal ways, then I’ve often wondered what it does to us to spend our lives going from one man-made box to another. I think it hurts us more than we realize. Not surprisingly, I’m not the only one who has wondered such things. Consider this from Christine Sine:
“My attention has also been caught by what a growing number are calling nature deficit disorder. I don’t think that we realize the consequences to our health – both physical and spiritual of lives that are spent inside under artificial light. Insomina, depression, and of course obesity are all linked to sedentary indoor lives.”
Get outside. It’s a spiritual and physical health issue.
